We have had a few carbonation machines over the years from aarke and sodastrean- They all typically function the same way and give similar results. We like the design and touch points of the Smeg, all of the touch points seem quite thick and durable, and the hidden twist mechanism means the unit has one of the slimmest silhouettes I’ve seen. Compatibility is good, you can use the standard blue co2 refills from soda stream etc, and the unit works with aarke and soda stream bottles as well. Worth it if you like how it looks.
